Grand Crus Classes of Saint Emilion 2017

Who does not love a good wine tasting. We sure love to taste new wine and to get to taste a bunch of French wines from Saint Emilion. We were lucky enough to get invited to attend the 2017 Grand Crus Classes of Saint Emilion at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco. While in general this was a fairly typical tasting, you know, a bunch of winery owners or their family flogging their wares. This was a very focused tasting of a select and esteemed region in France. Yes we were excited. So how did it go. First off... two unique and fantastic things. No, not wine, although the wines were from good to very good to a couple greats. No the two amazing things were physical. Whom ever set up this event,

Paris to Prague with Viking, to the boat!

We enjoyed our three and a bit days in Paris and our stay at the Le Meridien Etoile. Today we were to travel to Trier Germany and embark our Viking River Boat Alsvin for our wonderful adventure. The trip from Paris to Trier was as entertaining as can be expected from a 6 hour bus ride. We traveled a couple hours and stopped in Champagne. Unfortunately the stop although stocked with nice Champagne was a truck stop not a Champagne house. The next stop was in Luxembourg where we did a walking tour and then on our way out of town stopped at the Luxemburg American Cemetery and Memorial. Both really cool spots and and a great stop along an otherwise mundane day. Upon arrival at the dock we were w

Expedia after hours tour of The Louvre, oh, and wine tasting.

We were warned about the crowds at the famous Lourve museum in Paris. Kiwi Chris and crew had just been a couple months earlier and although on the must do list I’m not a fan of that type of crowd. So what’s a tourist to do? Book an after hours tour with Expedia! Look it’s not like you have the place to yourself but the crowd is about half. Having easy access to some of the greatest pieces of art on the planet is amazing. The place is like a small country! As you can see it’s pretty open. My personal favorite. The most iconic. The most opinions about! After our tour it was a few blocks of walking to a special wine tasting. This cool underground wine cellar like themed space was a treat. The
