Silver Mountain Vineyards

“Making Fine Wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains Since 1979.”

High in the Santa Cruz Mountains Jerold O’Brien handcrafts small lots using the best of old world traditions and new world science to create wines of character, complexity and depth. Jerold believes that there is only one way to make good wine and that is to start with healthy vines that produce good grapes and that the environment they grow in is the beginning and the end of how this happens.

Jerold was a proponent of sustainable and organic practices for viticulture before it was even remotely popular and is a true believer for protection of the environment.

With Pinot Noir and Chardonnay planted on the estate and purchasing grapes from select vineyards for his Bordeaux wines there is a favorite for everyone, or in our case a number of favorites.

We had the pleasure and privilege of spending some time with Jerold and having him lead us through a tasting of his entire range of wines, and can attest that these wines are good. All good! From some lovely Chardonnays, a very nice Rose to some beautiful Pinot Noir. The range of Bordeaux is amazing and the Syrah is a true gem. Look, don't take our word for it. Head on up to the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains and check it out for yourself.

Up on the mountain the winery and the tasting room overlook Monterey Bay from 2100 feet atop Skyland Ridge at the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The views are spectacular!

There is a second option to taste the wines without the view in Santa Cruz at 402 Ingalls St, Ste. 29, Santa Cruz 95063 Friday through Sundays.

Look, we are not the only ones who think the wine is good -
