Paris to Prague with Viking, to the boat!

We enjoyed our three and a bit days in Paris and our stay at the Le Meridien Etoile. Today we were to travel to Trier Germany and embark our Viking River Boat Alsvin for our wonderful adventure. The trip from Paris to Trier was as entertaining as can be expected from a 6 hour bus ride. We traveled a couple hours and stopped in Champagne.

Unfortunately the stop although stocked with nice Champagne was a truck stop not a Champagne house. The next stop was in Luxembourg where we did a walking tour and then on our way out of town stopped at the Luxemburg American Cemetery and Memorial. Both really cool spots and and a great stop along an otherwise mundane day.

Upon arrival at the dock we were welcomed and checked into our rooms. Unlike the hotel, everyone was where they should be a happy to be there. Easy and welcoming is the best way to describe the boarding experience.

After a while the entire passenger group had a safety and information gathering. The Viking crew were informative and entertaining and we were starting off our adventure in a wonderful way.

The orientation was painless and getting setup and and ready for on board life easy. The crew were fantastic and we were old hands in a matter of minutes. The rooms were all as advertised and more. Beautifully appointed and comfortable.

The first dinner was wonderful and a perfect example of what was to come. We set sail that first night excited about the journey ahead and had dreams of castles and Riesling.

Happy Travel Adventures,

Cheers,
